It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we mourn the unexpected passing of Andrew Swindle, a beloved father, friend, and vibrant member of the Salt Lake City community. Andrew’s sudden departure has left an unfillable void in the lives of all who had the privilege to know and love him.
Andrew was the life of every room he walked into. Known for his boundless energy, warm smile, and generous heart, he had a rare gift of making everyone feel like family. His spirit lifted those around him, and his presence brought laughter, kindness, and connection wherever he went.
Professionally, Andrew was an accomplished investor and entrepreneur, most recently serving as the owner and operator of Wood Road Real Estate, a small investment company focused on multi-family properties throughout Utah’s Wasatch Front. With an eye for opportunity and a heart for helping others, he made his mark not only in business but in the lives he touched through it.
Prior to his ventures in real estate, Andrew dedicated nearly a decade to education and advancement work. He served in impactful roles at the Waterford School and the University of Utah, including as Director of Advancement for both the School of Dentistry and the College of Engineering. He also held positions in development and external relations, where his passion for connecting people and purpose shone through.
Earlier in his career, Andrew worked with companies like Qualtrics and Backcountry, always bringing enthusiasm, reliability, and positivity to every team he joined.
Andrew was a proud graduate of the University of Utah, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature. He was a student-athlete and active in the Student Alumni Board, forming friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime. He also attended Salt Lake City East High School, where his love for community and camaraderie first began to take root.
Andrew’s passing has led to an outpouring of grief and love, as friends and family remember him not only for his achievements but for his immense heart. One tribute described him as “a bright light in this world” and “immeasurably generous.” Another called him “a best friend, a protector, and a soul too good for this world.”
To honor Andrew’s legacy and support his family in this unimaginable time, a fundraiser has been launched to assist with counseling, memorial services, housing, childcare, and daily necessities. Those who knew Andrew know that he gave without hesitation—and now, his community is stepping up to reflect that same generosity back to the family he adored.
Andrew Swindle leaves behind a legacy of compassion, connection, and contagious joy. He will be missed beyond words, but his spirit will continue to live on in the stories shared, the lives he uplifted, and the love he spread so freely.
